  • ZOLO Toadface - 7'2", Medium Heavy +, Fast Casting

True to it’s name, the Toadface is an ace at working a variety of toads and frogs over heavy cover. The tip allows you to cast far into cover and then walk, pop, or hop your frog or toad just right. We know frogs are a big fish bait, so we added a little extra power to get them in the boat. This rod design has also given great results with jigs and larger texas rigs and has become very popular for large topwaters and swim jigs.

Quality and Customer Service far exceed their price point

After having my first ALX rod, Zolo Toadface, for a few months now, I figured I'd give my impression. First, I'm transitioning from another "well known" rod manufacturer, after having 3 rods break in the past year and a half. I decided to give ALX a try. The rod is super light, versatile, and very sensitive. I've used it for frogs, buzz toads, 3.5 inch swim baits, and spinnerbaits. It exceeded my expectations at catching fish for all of those presentations. I was impressed with it so much, that I ordered a Dream, Dragger, and Brawler from ALX. I ordered those rods on a Monday, and they were at my door the next afternoon. You can't beat that. I fished a tournament the weekend I received my new rods, and was blown away with the sensitivity of the Dragger and Brawler while using C-Rigs and Football Jigs. You can literally feel everything on the bottom and detecting bites are a no brainer. I let my partner use the Dragger, and now I think ALX will have another new customer. Thanks ALX for such an awesome product at a good price point. These will not be the only ALX rods in my boat.

    Toadface

Quality rod, fast shipping to boot. I have only used it a couple times and I think that I am going to really like it. It is very versatile and I think can be used for more than frogging.

This rod is a game changer, as most alx rods have been for me. After spending a year with the zolo mcsmalls and enox psychic it was time to up my bait casting game. This thing has an incredible tip, casts the same frog on the same reel nearly twice as far as my speed stick lite. Sensitivity is out of this world when throwing swim jigs and bottom baits and the tip is forgiving enough for get those hook sets on feisty frogs when you get too excited on the blow up to wait for them to eat it. Can’t say enough good things about alx, 2 days to my porch from ordering, build quality is beautiful and the balance is perfect.

    This is the one.

Let me make this simple. Do you fish frogs? This is the rod you need. End of story.

Zolo Toadface for pitching light Texas Rigs

Thank you to Alex for taking the time to answer all of my questions - the Toadface is working extremely well for pitching light Texas rigs and finesse style shaky heads in shallow water around heavy grass and medium structure. I didn't really have a clue as to what rod could handle this light of a bait and still have enough backbone to wrangle a decent bass out of shoreline cover. Using it in a it's first tournament this weekend and really looking forward to it.
