  • ZOLO PowerBolt - 7'11", XXHeavy, Fast Casting

When you need brute force from a bass fishing rod for punching through and bringing in monster bass from ugly places, the PowerBolt is the answer. Fish are fought from the rod belly giving you more control, more power, and fewer break offs. There is still enough tip for your delicate flip presentations with a 2 ounce punch bait. After the flip, prepare to cross their eyes with all 7’11” of raw power. The PowerBolt also crosses over nicely into a big spoon, deep crank and A-Rig rod when it’s not punching season.

    Is Amazing the right word?

I must say the PowerBolt is amazing. I have 2 custom PowerBolt rods I had built for a-rigs. It’s the perfect all around a rig rod. Now the other day a buddy hits me up to go to Clear Lake for the day while my whip is in the shop. I knew a Carolina rig would play and just grabbed this rod, cut off the a rig and tied up the old ball n chain. Holy smokes. Could cast a Carolina rig a mile and while this rod is rated to something like 3oz it never felt like it was too much rod. The sensitivity was there. The length for good hook sets on a c rig and it loads up a little further in the blank which helped keep some hard fighting bass on a lighter wire wide gap pinned. I must say while to most this may seem overkill for a Carolina rig rod it’s actually perfect. I’m going to order a couple more I think.

Took this out for the first time yesterday, fishing a light punching setup with a 1oz weight. Tip on the rod is fantastic, I was able to do delicate and precise pitches as well as slinging a few longer casts. Great power for hook sets and dragging the fish out of the junk. Big fan of the mod fast action compared to my previous punching rod, really seems to help keep the fish pinned.

    Amazing Rod!

I recently purchased a powerbolt for the mini magnum flutter spoon (6.5 inch; 2.5 oz) from Nichols lures.. I’ve heard the stories of fishi throwing the spoon on head shakes. I managed to catch my first spoon fish on this rod. Set the hook, felt it was a decent fish, keep pressure on the fish and fumbled around to get my livewell full, the fish shook, jumped and the powerbolt kept it pinned.. in my opinion it the perfect rod if you throwing a spoon

This rod with 20 pound fluorocarbon tipped with a 3/4oz worm or jig will give those big deep hammers a better chance of riding in your live wells to weigh in. Fishing 30 feet deep off a point or ledge, you will feel that subtle bite with the fast tip and have the XX-Heavy backbone to drive the hook home to guarantee better hook ups with more fish catches in the boat. Sensitivity that is a must when fishing deep structure is what you'll find and love about this rod. The quality that is put into each ALX rod is shown not only by its looks but most importantly by the characteristic that you will feel while fishing one of these precision built fishing tools. My magic hammer!

I have 2 ZOLO Power Bolt rods that I use for both soft and hard swimbaits, big spinnerbaits and big plastics. They work great with Bullworms, Zoom 12 inch Ole Monsters and Berkley Power worms where deep weeds, trees and brush are prevalent. I use 20 and 25 lb flourocarbon or 50 and 65 lb braid on my reels, dependent upon what I'm doing. In every instance where I have needed superheavy power to get bigger fish out of places most don't fish, these Power Bolt Rods have handled it with ease. And flipping with left and right handed reels is easy for me either sitting or standing with these rods from a kayak. I just change my reels to match the situation and go. These are the best heavy rods I have ever used. I put a 9 lb 6 oz largemouth on the board yesterday for my 2 monthly state KBF challenges. And I know where another big girl is for my next trip. I'll get picture with my Power Bolt!
