Fishing BIG WORMS!

Fishing BIG WORMS!

When it gets hot, I start fishing at night and slinging a 10" worm - something like the Big Cuz worm from FIVE Bass Tackle.

I'm not really creative with it - why change what's effective!?!?! Here's my typical setup:

  • OXIM Smoker or ENOX Shock (I like a long rod here)
  • 1/2 oz tungsten
  • 17# fluorocarbon on a 7.4:1 reel
  • Texas rigged using a centerpin screw-lock and a 32786 jig hook in 5/0 or 6/0 and a bobber stop 1" above the weight
  • Fish in 15' - 25' of water

My retrieves are usually a hopping style or slow drag. I'll try both to see how they respond on a given day.

Hope this inspires you to catch some during these hot summer days!
