ZOLO Toadface - 7'2", Medium Heavy +, Fast Casting

True to it’s name, the Toadface is an ace at working a variety of toads and frogs over heavy cover. The tip allows you to cast far into cover and then walk, pop, or hop your frog or toad just right. We know frogs are a big fish bait, so we added a little extra power to get them in the boat. This rod design has also given great results with jigs and larger texas rigs and has become very popular for large topwaters and swim jigs.

They weren't lyin

I saw a lot of comments and posts on social media, all singing the praises of the Toadface. Frankly, I blew it off as prostaffers just doin their job. When I came across some ZOLO rods at a ridiculous price, the toadface was one of two I bought to try out. I was so dang wrong when I blew off the previous posts! I now have several ALX rods and if I could only keep one rod (of any brand or type) it would be the Toadface, without hesitation. Ironically, a frog bite is about the only thing I haven't tried with this rod. All that backbone but I can still throw a light shakey head. Wasn't expecting much for sensitivity from a frog rod but, again, I was wrong. I can throw a heavy spinnerbait all day and no longer have the hand and wrist-joint pains like I did with my old rod. Also caught my first swimjig bass on the TF. Really can't say enough good things about the ZOLO Toadface. So if you're like me and wonder if all the talk about the Toadface is just fluff, or prostaffers fulfilling their obligations...it's not. It's the real deal. If you're wanting to upgrade your rods past the typical $100-150 range, THIS is the one to start with! Feel the difference in sensitivity, the light weight, all-day comfort in your hand and the added backbone even if ya botch the hookset. It'll make it easy to justify future upgrades for other applications. I'll be thrilled to add more of em to the arsenal.

Toadface

When looking for a good frog rod, I stumbled onto ALX and never could find a bad review. Personal best has been a 3 1/2 lb LMB on a frog,in the moss and this rod with 50lb power pro and a Curado DC 150XG had total control of the bass. This rod will cast a 1/2oz hollow body frog a country mile, excellent at flipping, fishing worms and chatterbaits. I cannot say enough good things about it. If your thinking about purchasing a ALX rod do not hesitate to pull the trigger, you won’t regret it.

Toad(swim jig, light flipping, big topwater)face

I truly believe that the name in my title is a much better.. but much longer name for the Toadface rod. I purchased my first Toadface with the intention of using it as a dedicated frog rod. It quickly proved itself to be the best frog rod by far of any brand that I had previously owned. I have since begun to experiment with different baits/techniques and I have found that the Toadface does a lot of things exceptionally well. I now own 4 Toadface rods and I will continue to add them to my rod arsenal as I discover new techniques for which this particular rod excell.

My new go to rod

I have several ALX rods but my new Toadface has become one of my favorites. It does what it was made for, working toads and frogs over heavy cover, very well but I love it for working a swim bait or swim jig thru cover. I think that with 4 or 5 of these rods I could replace most of my other rods. This rod is a work horse that is now a valuable part of my arsenal.
