About Us

From Tournaments to Tinkering

In the mid-2000s, founder Alex Dziengielewski started building rods in a side room at home. What began as a personal quest to create the perfect topwater rod soon evolved into a mission to fill a gap in the fishing world.

Finding Our First Anglers

Of the first 10 rods Alex built, eight sold right away to local bass club buddies. That’s when Alex knew he was onto something bigger than a hobby. His focus on customized designs, real world use set ups, and listening to the needs of the people who would actually fish the rods were a springboard for more than just a hobby.

From Hobby to Full-Fledged Brand

As demand grew, ALX Rods moved from a side gig to a full-fledged brand. The number of rods increased. Production models were developed. Dealers came on board. A private label production side was established. Home workers and shop support was needed. Alex's wife, Jennifer, joined as General Manager, and together they built a team dedicated to in-house craftsmanship.

Our Pro-Shop Philosophy

We’re not just selling rods; we’re bringing the pro-shop experience to bass anglers everywhere. ALX Rods has set out to provide that same consultative approach you’d find in a tennis or golf pro shop to the world of bass fishing.
It’s about making sure you have the right tool in hand so you can fish with confidence, knowing it’s built by folks who fish just like you.

Today, ALX Rods is still proudly run by Alex and Jennifer along with a dedicated crew of bass fishing rod builders. We still build our rods in-house, with that focus on helping serious anglers find the perfect tool for their technique. And yes, we do with as many American-sourced parts as we can.

In a nutshell, we’re here to solve the problem of guesswork. We’re the brand that gives you the confidence that you’ve got the right rod for the job, built by anglers who know exactly what that means. That’s the ALX Rods philosophy: let's help you be more successful on the water by matching you with the right fishing rod that we build right here in the USA.
