Description

The extra three inches of length gives the Promise 73 advantages when fishing offshore structure, dragging bottom baits, or launching heavier moving baits across flats and points. That added reach also improves sweeping hooksets and line pickup when fish bite at the end of a long cast. If the Promise 7 is the everyday workhorse, the Promise 73 is the version built for covering more water and handling bigger presentations.

My first casting rod, and I love it!

After fishing with only spinning gear for over 50 years I bought this rod to try casting gear for the first time last summer. Wow! It is incredibly sensitive, light and easy to handle. It made learning a new skill fun and worthwhile. After some dry-land practice (and a few backlashes) I tried it using my fishing kayak and was amazed how easily and accurately it casts. By the end of the summer it was totally dialed-in for swim jigs, flipping Texas rigs, and swimbaits. I have have a couple of entry-level, St. Croix spinning rods that were my "higher-performace" rods, but this far out-performs them. A great value and a joy to fish with. Thanks!

    I Promise73 that you’ll love this rod!

I’ve had this rod for a few years and have definitely gotten my moneys worth out of it. I like to throw 6” Stick baits, lighter Carolina rigs, and jigs with it.

    Great Rod Great Service

I have been fishing the Promise 73 for a few years now. On a recent trip to Guntersville, my first cast the rod snapped in half. This was a fault of my own, on my trip a cooler in the back of may truck went flying in the bed and I believe landed on my rods, I say this because the second rod I casted the same thing happened.

That being said, I have a new rod thanks to the SureSet program. ALX rods are a great rod and the people that work for Alex are top notch. I was grateful for the ability to replace this rod without paying full cost. I will only buy ALX Rods going forward.

Thank you to the ALX Team.

This is the open water trap rod you need.

Looking to fish traps? This is the rod for you. You need a good rod that is parabolic but allows you to still feel your trap wether jigging, dragging or reeling in straight. This rod will allow you to get your trap fish in the boat as it won’t pull the hooks out. It will also allow you to fish your trap effectively as it’s not too soft.

    Mind blown!!!!

I originally purchased a Promise 7 through TW, came here to buy the 7’3” Promise and Hammer. Haven't gotten to use the Hammer much…but the 7’ has became my go-to jig pitch and skip rod, and the 7’3” Promise has been dynamite for c-rigs and swing heads. Slowly going to start replacing my older tatula elites with ALX rods. The balance, sensitivity, and flexes just fit my style
